CELA Academy General Information
Spring 2010
In concert with Central Arizona College, CELA is happy to announce the following schedule for the Spring 2010 CELA Academy. The site for the Academy will be on the Scottsdale Police Department, located at 7601 E. McKellips, Building A. Please enter the site from McKellips Rd.
- March 11, 2010 - Ethics and Report Writing
- March 25, 2010 - Policies and Procedures
- April 8, 2010 - Communications
- April 22, 2010 - Officer Safety
- May 6, 2010 - Zoning Overview
- May 20, 2010 - Legal Aspects of Code Enforcement
Successful completion of the Academy leads to the award of three credit hours from Arizona Central College (CAC) and a certified Code Enforcement Officer designation from CELA. The total cost for Central Arizona College tuition, materials, facility charges, etc. is $336 for the 48 hours of training. Checks should be made payable to CELA; CELA then makes payment to CAC for all students.
If you are concerned that you may not be able to attend all classes, you can still enroll and any classes missed can be made up at the next Academy.
This is an excellent opportunity to attain college credits (which are transferrable) in the code enforcement profession and a certification designation - very helpful tools in terms of job security and job advancement, especially given the current economic situation.
Class size may be limited, so please send in your enrollment application as soon as possible! Your application and check for $336.00 should be mailed to:
