Foreclosed Properties and Stagnant Pools
I would like some help with properties that have been foreclosed on and a pool has been left to become stagnant. What process are other agencies doing to resolve these issues?

Protection of Personal Information
A bill was passed last year that can shield the personal information of code
enforcement officers, i.e. driver’s license, vehicle and voter registration
information, etc., similar to the protection afforded law enforcement officers.
A form must be filed by the code professional with the State requesting the
shielding. CELA will be offering a class on this subject at the Fall 2008 conference.
Please contact me if you would like a copy of the bill.

Maintenance of Foreclosed Properties
Have any of you developed, or are in the process of developing, a code that addresses the maintenance of foreclosed properties? For instance, Boston has just adopted a code requiring the property owner or lender to register their property with the city within 7 days of filing the foreclosure. They are also required to inspect and maintain the property on a monthly basis until the property is occupied. Youngtown is looking to adopt a similar code, and I wanted to see if any of you had already done so. I would appreciate any information you have on this topic. Thanks for your help!

Protection of Code Enforcement Officers
Didn’t Arizona pass legislation recently providing greater legal protection of Code Enforcement Officers? I can’t seem to find it.
